Gifting a Nelson-Atkins membership means a full year of fun for your friends and loved ones.
How to give
- Select a membership: From the annual membership levels below, choose one that best fits the needs of your gift recipient.
- Complete the form: After selecting a membership level, fill out the respective online form with your gift recipient’s information. Once you’ve completed the form, you’ll receive an email confirming your purchase. (Please keep this email for your tax records.)
- Wait for your gift to arrive (or don’t!): Your gift recipient will receive their digital member card and welcome email within five days of your completed purchase. It will be sent directly to the gift recipient using the contact email you’ve provided. If you’d like something to send to your recipient immediately, download this PDF as proof of your gift.

When you give the gift of museum membership, you help keep the Nelson-Atkins free for all. Select the annual membership level that best fits the needs of your gift recipient. Note: All benefits are cumulative.

Frequently asked questions
When will my gift recipient receive their member cards?
Member cards have gone digital! Your recipient will receive a welcome email the day after your purchase and their digital cards three days later.
Can I give my recipient something to open as their gift?
Yes! You can download this digital welcome card.
Can I buy now and gift later?
All memberships begin the day they are purchased and expire 12 months later. If you would like to purchase a membership to be redeemed later, please email the Nelson-Atkins membership team at membership@nelson-atkins.org.
Can I set up a purchase plan for my gift membership?
No, gifted membership must be paid for in full at the time of purchase.
I’m already a member and I would like to purchase a gift membership. Do I need to create a new account?
No, pease log in with your existing membership account to make the purchase.
After the recipient has received the membership, can I switch names on the membership?
No. Once gifted, a membership will remain in the recipient’s name for its duration (12 months).
