Postponing, notifications and make-up dates

  • We will make every effort to show movies as scheduled ‘rain or shine’ and only adjust in severe weather circumstances.
  • We encourage all guests to dress for the weather – and potential weather changes.
  • Umbrellas are not permitted while the movie is playing.
  • When rain or severe weather is predicted in close proximity to the museum during movie hours (approximately 8:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) with 60% certainty or greater, the show for that evening will be postponed to one of the designated makeup dates.
  • The call will be made by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the film. This information will be posted on the museum’s website and emailed to all ticket holders.
  • Make-up dates:
    • Friday, October 15 – The first postponed movie will be scheduled for this date
    • Friday, October 22 – The second postponed movie will be scheduled for this date
    • Friday, October 29 – The third postponed movie will be scheduled for this date
  • If inclement weather arises during a film, Nelson-Atkins staff may delay or pause the film up to 45 minutes, then resume. If a delay is expected to – or actually – exceed(s) 45 minutes, the show will be canceled.
