Teen Open Mic Night

The final Open Mic Night of the school year! To celebrate the summer break we’re going beach party, with FREE mocktails, snacks, and a summer playlist. Come to perform or just watch the show.
Teen Chalk Art Festival
Saturday, June 25, 2022 | 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. | North Plaza Drive
Teens gather to create chalk drawings on the north driveway inspired by artwork from the museum’s collection.
Artists must pre-register here to reserve their artwork space on the drive. Participants must be between 13-19 years old. All art supplies and refreshments provided.
Teen Summer Dance

American Art Deco: Designing for the People, 1918-1939 exhibition opens this month and we’re celebrating with a FREE Art Deco themed dance!
Teen Council
The Teen Council is composed of a diverse group of students representing different schools in Kansas City. Their mission is to increase and diversify teen involvement at the Nelson-Atkins by planning and marketing events and programs for teens.
Teen Guide
The Teen Guide program is a paid summer job experience for local teens. Teen Guides provide interactive tours of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park and the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center.
Applications for the Teen Guide program are open every April.
If you’re an organization interested in signing up your group (minimum of 15) for a FREE K-6 Teen Guide led tours over the summer, please submit your request here.
