Islamic Art: Global Connections and Exchange, Part 2

Part 2 of the exhibition Islamic Art: Global Connections and Exchange focuses upon the influence of textiles and metalwork from the Middle East on artworks from Germany and Southern Europe.

See examples of sumptuous Persian velvets that inspired industries in Spain and Italy. Further connections are made with between luxurious animal-form metalworks from West Asia and an elegant lion-form pitcher used for liturgical purposes in Germany.
