Evening Two | Friday, May 1
Grand Tasting, Live Auction, and ShuttleCork After Dark
Evening Two features two extraordinary events. At the Grand Tasting, enjoy delectable selections from leading winemakers and local restaurants. Under the big-top tent, raise your paddle high at the Live Auction. Finally, hit the after-party next door at After Dark.
Individual tickets to Evening Two will be available, in limited quantities, after April 1.

Grand Tasting | 5:30-7:30 pm
Savor what the best chefs and vintners have to offer, as 25 top West Coast wineries and 20 of Kansas City’s favorite restaurants provide the perfect mix of food, wine, and mingling amongst friends – all in the elegant setting of the Nelson-Atkins.

Live Auction | 8-9 pm
The exciting Live Auction offers rare wine, unparalleled experiences, and once-in-a-lifetime travel packages. Join other art lovers and wine enthusiasts in supporting the museum as a vital partner in the educational, social, and cultural life of Kansas City.
Auction Highlights
Here’s a preview of the many exquisite and exclusive lots you can raise your paddle for at the Live Auction.

Sail the Croatian Coastline
In one of the auction’s most thrilling lots, bid on a chance for 10 guests to experience a luxurious, seven-day yachting cruise on the crystal-clear waters of Croatia’s Adriatic coast to revel in breathtaking landscapes and a rich culture of art, music, food, and wine.

Judgment of Paris Wine Lot
This lot is your opportunity to own an incredible piece of wine history: 10 of the winning California wines drawn from the legendary Paris Wine Tasting of 1979, a blind tasting that helped establish Napa wine as a worthy – and, by some measures, superior – contender to French wine. These wines come from the exact vintners and vintages as featured in the 1979 tasting.

Sommelier for a Day
Sommeliers represent the peak of professional wine knowledge, from winemaking to tasting to the history of the craft. Join Doug Frost, one of the few in the world to hold both titles of Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, for an immersive afternoon. Guests will participate in guided blind tastings, learn about the world’s most important wine regions, and enjoy a small-plate gathering at The American Restaurant.
A digital auction catalog will be available to view online at least two weeks before ShuttleCork. A physical catalog will be printed and mailed to ticketed guests approximately one week before ShuttleCork.
Absentee Bidding
If you won’t be present for the Live Auction but would still like to bid on a lot, email Allison Muller at amuller@nelson-atkins.org. The deadline to submit your bid is noon Thursday, April 30.

ShuttleCork After Dark | 9 pm
After the auction, wind down from the excitement with live jazz while enjoying more fine wine and light bites.
