Enjoy a multi-course meal at an incredible home in Kansas City. Your evening begins with transportation to one of six homes, where you will be graciously welcomed by your hosts. As the night unfolds, you and other guests will be treated to an intimate meal crafted by a renowned local chef and two West Coast winemakers.

The wine, food, and company will make for an unforgettable evening. Seating is limited.

Chef: Jeff Workman, TAILLEUR

Jeff Workman has honed his skills at several top Kansas City culinary destinations, such as Corvino, The Campground, and now, TAILLEUR. In 2024, he was a James Beard Award semi-finalist for Emerging Chef while at The Campground. Jeff Workman’s “Modern French Movement” menu at Tailleur seamlessly blends classic French techniques with contemporary flavors, creating a dining experience that is as refined as it is inviting.

Winery 1: Mending Wall

In Napa Valley, Mending Wall stands as a small, hands-on winery built on a passion for wines that truly reflect their origins. With a focus on small-lot production, each bottle tells the story of the vineyard in its purest form. Led by acclaimed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, Mending Wall blends tradition with a modern touch, creating wines that are both honest and unforgettable.

Winery 2: Staglin

The story of Staglin Family Vineyards begins in 1985, but the history of the estate is much older. Purchased and planted by John Steckter during the Civil War, the estate vineyards would later be reimagined by famed viticulturist André Tchelistcheff. Today, Garen and Shari Staglin, along with David Abreu, continue their care of the iconic property.

Chef: Charles d’Ablaing, J. Rieger and Co.

A James Beard Award finalist, he is currently serving as the culinary director for multiple venues inside J. Rieger and Co. Over his illustrious culinary career in Kansas City, Atlanta native Charles d’Ablaing has gained fans of his Southern sensibility as executive chef at Webster House, Rosso inside of Hotel Sorella, Chaz on the Plaza inside The Raphael, and Brookside Poultry Co.

Winery 1: The Mascot

Crafted from younger vines that hint at the grandeur to come, The Mascot offers a rare glimpse into the winemaking philosophy of Harlan Estate. Rooted in the same legendary terroir, it provides a more approachable expression while maintaining the depth and refinement of its pedigree. With the Harlan family’s vision guiding every vintage, The Mascot is a testament to patience, craftsmanship, and the promise of greatness.

Winery 2: Zakin

With their inaugural vintage in 2012, Jon Zakin and his wife Jan set out to make world-class wines from the beginning. Alongside superstar winemaker Philippe Melka and the team at Silverado Farming Company, they’ve been able to do just that in a relatively short amount of time.

Chef: Romain Monnoyeur, Westport Cafe

Romain Monnoyeur serves as the Executive Chef of Westport Cafe where he brings nearly 15 years of professional culinary experience in France. Born into a family of seasoned cooks, gardeners, and wine makers in the hills of Lyon, France, Romain has long been impassioned by the joys of cooking, with special attention given to sourcing the finest ingredients. Romain went to The French Culinary School, and held roles at Ducasse in Monaco, Epcot Center’s Monsieur Paul in Orlando, Mandarin Oriental in Paris (A 2 Michelin star restaurant), and Caillebotte in Paris. In 2024, Romain was a James Beard Award semi-finalist.

Winery 1: DuMOL

For many, DuMOL is the pinnacle of what the Russian River Valley has to offer.

Although Single Vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah have been the focus over the last three decades, their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is emerging as a worthy contender.

Winery 2: Spottswoode

In 1982, 100 years after the estate’s founding, Mary Novak would produce the very first barrels of Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1998, Mary’s daughter, Beth Novak, succeeded her as CEO. Spottswoode has since received Wine Advocate 100-point scores in multiple vintages.

Chef: Ted Habiger, Oil on Linen & Room 39

A three-time James Beard Foundation Outstanding Chef Award nominee, Ted Habiger excels as a chef, restaurateur, sommelier, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. As the owner and chef at Room 39, Habiger also contributes as a vendor for the KC Current. Additionally, he is the chef and owner of Oil on Linen at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. In Mérida, Mexico, Habiger is the chef-partner at Ánima, specializing in open-fire gastronomy. Habiger believes the best-tasting food comes from local farmers who use sustainable practices.

Winery 1: Roy Estate

Hidden in Napa Valley’s Vaca Mountains, Roy Estate reflects the land’s unique

character with meticulous care in every bottle. The estate’s wines strike a harmonious balance between power and elegance, shaped by the legendary influence of Philippe Melka. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, Roy Estate crafts wines that embody both a deep sense of place and a spirit of excellence.

Winery 2: Tor

There are few modern names as iconic as that of Tor Kenward. Starting as a tour

guide, Tor spent 27 years at Beringer Winery before “retiring.” Soon after, he

would start the legacy that is Tor Wines, alongside his wife, Susan. If the wines

here weren’t already hard enough to get your hands on, Phil Mickelson was

spotted drinking Tor’s Black Magic Cabernet Sauvignon directly from his Master’s Cup.

Chef: Ryan Brazeal, Novel

A graduate of the JCCC Culinary program, Ryan made his mark in New York City before coming home and opening Novel. Located in the East Crossroads, the restaurant is vibrant, spacious and lives up to its name – creating a unique culinary experience with locally sourced ingredients and contemporary techniques.

Winery 1: The Debate

More than just a wine, The Debate invites wine lovers into a conversation, showcasing Napa Valley’s finest single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. Sourced from iconic sites like To Kalon, Sacrashe, and Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper, each bottle tells a unique story of terroir and character. Founded by Jean Hoefliger, The Debate is a celebration of comparison and discovery, where the best wines, like the best discussions, are meant to be shared.

Winery 2: Knights Bridge

Located just north of Calistoga lies one of California winemaking’s best kept secrets. In 2006, several close-knit family members discovered 50 acres of hillside vineyards in Knights Valley, the perfect spot to produce exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was here that Kelley and Jim Bailey decided to create Knights Bridge Winery with the singular goal of producing world-class wines.

Chef: Michael Smith, Farina & Extra Virgin

Working in celebrated kitchens in Chicago, Denver, and France prepared Michael to open his own restaurants; Forty Sardines, the eponymous Michael Smith, Extra Virgin, and Farina. He is a James Beard Award winner and continues to be recognized as one of the country’s most respected chefs.

Winery 1: Cardinale

A beacon of Napa Valley elegance, Cardinale crafts a single, exquisite Cabernet

Sauvignon each vintage. Sourced from the finest mountain vineyards, its wines are

masterfully blended to achieve depth, complexity, and timeless allure. Under the artistry of winemaker Christopher Carpenter, Cardinale embodies the pinnacle of balance and refinement.

Winery 2: Cliff Lede

Situated in the heart of the Stag’s Leap District, this winery is best known for its elegant Cabernet Sauvignon labels, including its flagship, Poetry. The winery also produces Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
