Nelson-Atkins Closes for Three Weeks in Response to Coronavirus

Visitors Encouraged to Visit Online

Kansas City, MO. March 13, 2020– The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art stands in solidarity with the city and the nation in response to the coronavirus, and will close effective Saturday, March 14 through Friday, April 3. During that time, the museum will halt all events and public access to the museum.

“We recognize that during challenging times, art can be a source of inspiration, comfort, and human expression,” said Julián Zugazagoitia, Menefee D. and Mary Louise Blackwell CEO & Director of the Nelson-Atkins. “The Nelson-Atkins will continue to be that source, and we encourage our guests to visit online for information and updates.”

The museum will reassess the situation after the three-week mark. Please check www.nelson-atkins.org for updates.
