Toys and Miniatures

Highlights from the Collection of The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures

During the renovation of the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures building, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is pleased to present a selection of room settings, ceramics, furniture and silver from their collection. Highlights from the Collection will be on view throughout the Nelson-Atkins.

Contemporary miniatures are carefully created works of art. Artists research, study and replicate full-size objects. One work can take months, even years, to complete.

Some of the miniatures are replicas of works in the permanent collection of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. All are masterful examples of the art of miniaturization. Enjoy a treasure hunt throughout the museum that highlights both miniature and full-scale artistry!
