[1] “A young girl, with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a pink dress with white sleeves, stomacher and underskirt, the bodice trimmed with white lace, enamel, gilt-metal mount, oval 1 13/16 in.; 4.6cm.” The annotated catalogue has a circled lot number and lists “460” below the lot description.
[2] Pohl-Ströher began collecting European portrait miniatures from 1978 until the time of her death. It is possible she acquired the work from its March 15, 1982, sale.
