Photography Collection Tour
Beginning in 1839, artists have used the constantly changing medium of photography to depict the world around us. On this tour, look closely at photographic images and discuss with others how artists have captured moments of daily life, views of our surrounding environments, famous faces, and abstract compositions.
This collection has two galleries: one gallery displays images in the context of the medium’s history; one gallery displays a small exhibition that focuses on a theme. The Tour Scheduler will schedule a tour that addresses both galleries, unless otherwise specified in the “Special Requests/Comments” section of the online request form.
Come tour often! The galleries change several times each year to protect the light-sensitive images and to display the deep holdings of the museum’s Photography Collection.
