Low Sensory Morning

In partnership with The Autism Society of the Heartland, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art invites you and your family to join us for a morning of fun and accessibility at our Low Sensory Morning in the South and Southeast Asian Galleries!

Deaf Cultural Day
Saturday, Sept 8
Celebrate Deaf Culture and art with national artists and American Sign Language Poetry performances. Free and open to the public.


Relating to Art: For adults on the spectrum
Classes are FREE. Enrollment is required for participants only. Care partners may stay with a student during class.

Minds in Motion Tour
In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association-Heart of America Chapter, the museum provides free gallery tours for those with memory loss and their care partners.

Tactile Tours
Ages 12 & up | FREE
Each month, a tactile tour is held for visitors who are visually impaired.

American Sign Language Tours
In partnership with the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture,
the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art provides quarterly tours with ASL interpretation.
