ShuttleCork 2020

With your support, ShuttleCork has grown throughout its seven-year history into the top fundraiser for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and one of the top charitable wine auctions in the country, consistently raising more than $1 million a year to support the museum’s mission. We are humbled winemakers are now asking to be a part of the event each year, having heard about our generous and friendly Kansas City community and how many wine lovers there are!

How can you help?

We have decided to sell the gift magnums that typically are given to each couple who attends a Thursday night Winemaker Dinner. It is our hope you would still like to support ShuttleCork and the Nelson-Atkins and secure one of these exclusive bottles!

Kansas City’s own Brad McLeroy has put together a special bottling of Ayres 2017 Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge, which will be available to the first 100 people who request a bottle, at a cost of $1,000. Only 260 cases of the winery’s top wine were produced, and Brad decanted 17 of those cases into magnums just for us!

This wine is comprised entirely of clone 667—the oldest vines—that tend to offer the darkest expression of Pinot Noir. Look for the balance of fruit and savory that Pinot Noir loves to express during a perfect growing season. This is a wine lover’s dream as these magnums are not typically offered for sale. Brad will be signing each of them for you!

Remember, only 100 bottles exist, so act now to secure and enjoy this unique wine and continue supporting the museum.

The museum also will honor our commitment to the 2020 featured chefs, whose restaurants are struggling right now in this challenging environment, by providing their usual stipend.

Thank you for your exceptional generosity over the years. We are looking forward to being together again in celebration of wine and art in 2021!
