Investigate the process of screen printing, a technique in which the printed image or design is created by pulling ink across the surface of a cloth screen. This class will focus on the “breakdown” method of printing, applying thickened dyes and print paste to develop the screen and printing onto fabric. Interesting and unique patterns are made in this process as you explore color, shape, line and repetition. Possibilities for redeeming an unsuccessful section of printed art cloth and using the fabric panels in various ways will be discussed as well. Please plan to bring a lunch each day. All materials provided.
