Teen Art Collective

Teen Art Collective is a free, weekly drop-in art making program every week just for teens! Create something new and be inspired by our galleries and exhibitions. Supplies provided!

Find us in classroom 5 in the Ford Learning Center.

July 5 | We will spend some time in the English Pottery Gallery to talk about the importance of ceramic vessel making! After that we will head back to the classroom and work on our own vessels!

July 12 | This week we will be making our own signature slimes. Get ready to get slimy with some squishy slime. Learn how to mix your own slime.

July 19 | After we meet in Classroom 5, Ford Learning Center, we will take a walk around the Nelson’s beautiful outdoor space full of art, nature and architecture. Then we will get down to it and chalk up a spot! Get ready to draw outside and add your own art to the Nelson’s collection.

All programs meet in the Ford Learning Center.

Teen events at the Nelson-Atkins are adult supervised but designed for autonomous exploration of art and ideas by teens aged 14-18. Younger, middle-school-aged youth are welcome to participate as long as they are comfortable away from parental supervision and around the social dynamics of older teens.
