Talk | Safe Haven: The Nelson-Atkins and the Protection of Art during WWII

MacKenzie Mallon, specialist, provenance, discusses the important part the Nelson-Atkins played in the protection of art during World War II. The story includes six Monuments Men with ties to the Nelson-Atkins, and the museum’s role as a repository for art evacuated from the East and West coasts. This talk is presented in connection with the exhibition, Discriminating Thieves: Nazi Looted Art and Restitution.
