Julián Zugazagoitia, director and exhibition curator, has invited three prominent French scholars and museum leaders to share perspectives on Pablo Picasso, his creative interests, and his relationship with the arts of Africa and the world.
Stéphane Martin, president of Paris’s musée du quai Branly–Jacques Chirac, shares insights into the conceptualization of the display of African art at the quai Branly. Their unique approach offers a fascinating view into how museums of former colonial powers and other Western nations display and interpret the arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas.
Offered in connection with the exhibition Through the Eyes of Picasso.
The series continues on April 5.
