Visit the museum galleries to look at landscapes and create an interpretive weaving infused with personal elements reflecting your traits, qualities and interests. A combination of yarn, cord, papers, sari swatches, uniquely decorated fabric and assorted weaving stitches will create the many mixed-media layers of the landscape. Additions of found objects or personal mementos may be included to enhance the landscape. Participants should plan to bring 5 – 10 items, such as old jewelry, silk ties, bottle caps, beads, poems, maps and copies of personal paper ephemera to incorporate into their work. All other materials provided. No prior weaving experience is necessary.
