Discover and Learn | Your Group Visit to the Nelson-Atkins

Due to museum construction, the 2015-2016 school years will be experiencing scheduling changes.

Beginning August 1, 2015:

  • We will be no longer offer "All Day Visits" due to limited space. School groups may come for one workshop or one tour a day.
  • Workshops will be offered at 10am or 12:30pm. Please schedule accordingly.
  • "Inside Reserved Lunch Spots" will be unavailable due to limited space.
    • Groups are welcome to eat lunch outside on the South Lawn without reservation.
    • Groups who purchase lunch through Rozzelle Court will be permitted to eat inside at Rozzelle court.

Beginning January 1, 2016, school Workshops will only be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The cost of School Workshops is $7.00 per student with a minimum of 15 students. One adult must accompany every 10 students.

School Workshops are supported by Bank of America and Sprint.


Rozzelle Court Restaurant offers $7.50 box lunches for school groups. Orders must be placed in advance with Event Planning.

School groups may bring sack lunches and picnic on the grounds of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park. Teachers are responsible for making alternate arrangements in inclement weather.
