TAG (Teen Advisory Group) is a unique opportunity for area teens to work with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art as ambassadors, actively connecting teens and young adults with the Museum’s collection, working artists, and the community. Comprised of 12-15 diverse and motivated members, TAG participants interact with other area teens, Museum professionals and artists to not only generate ideas, but plan, implement and market teen programs that build connections within the community.
Who can participate?
We are looking for opinionated and motivated high school students who are interested in the arts, and eager to make an impact on the future of the teen community in Kansas City and the Museum. Any student currently enrolled in high school is eligible: rising freshmen through seniors.
What are the requirements?
Actively participate in TAG meetings and events throughout the year: August - June (NOTE: Frequency of meetings to be determined by TAG members)
Is TAG a paid position?
Yes—each member will receive an honorarium of $250 for their participation.
How does the application process work?
The application process is competitive. New TAG applicants will first be evaluated by their short essay responses in the online application, then through the selective interview process. Students will be notified in mid-July if they have been selected to participate.
