American Highlights

October 18, 2005—December 31, 2007

American Highlights featured over 50 of the Nelson-Atkins’ finest American paintings ranging from colonial portrait, to Hudson River School, to Impressionism, Cubism and Regionalism. It provided a fresh look at the collection, arranged in new groupings of people, places and things, and themes relating to work, industry, leisure, faith, the environment and relationships.

Treasures by Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and many other American painters were included.
